RunThatTrack Championship Tables 2016
We all love a bit of competition right? Well we all work in F1 so I think that's a given. Since its launch, the RunThatTrack website has been host to the F1 Runners and Constructors World Championships. 2012 saw the introduction of the additional championships (UBS Cup/Most Laps/Most Distance/Most Calories/Highest Donation) that we now all know and love, especially the UBS Cup which is probably the hardest fought F1 Championship that exists.

For a breakdown of how each of the Championship Points are calculated, scroll down to the bottom of the page for the full details. For the full Championship Tables, simply click the table title text.

Championship Overview - F1 World Championship
F1 is all about speed and performance and simply who is the fastest. So naturally we use F1 World Drivers Championship points system to calculate the RunThatTrack F1 Runners and Constructors Championship Tables. So how exactly does the F1 points system work for this?

For each GP of the season (except for Monaco - for safety reasons), all of the laps for each event are tabulated and sorted by fastest runner, the fastest runner gets the most points, the 2nd fastest the 2nd most points etc all the way down to 10th place. The points are awarded as per the F1 Championship regulations, with places rewarded in a 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 sequence.

Only the fastest individual entry from each runner is considered so that no runner can score more than 25 points per event. A cumulative total is maintained throughout the year and the individual runner with the highest points by the season end will be crowned the 2016 RunThatTrack F1 World Champion.

The calculation of the Constructors championship works along much the same lines, with the slight difference that the points are awarded to the team that the runner represents. This way, it is possible for a single team to be awarded multiple points for each event, for example if Ferrari had runners in positions 4, 7 and 8, then Ferrari would score 12+6+4 = 22 points for that event. Once again a running total is kept for each team with the Championship order determining the 2016 RunThatTrack Constructors Champion.
Championship Overview - UBS "Until the Race is Won" Cup
RunThatTrack is all about taking part, having fun and raising money for the UBS Optimus Foundation. So naturally we have come up with a points system where it does not matter how fast, slow, old or young you are, or if you are a physio or a truckie. It's all about you, this is where we have some fun....

So, what's it all about and how does it work? Well, I wanted to invent a Championship that everybody could compete in fairly and evenly, where the only competition is against yourself. The slowest, oldest most unfit member should be able to equally compete with the fastest leanest runners, and by jove I think I have stumbled upon a winning formula. So, queue the music, it's time for the maths, here's how it works....

The basic principle works like this, actually I'm starting the year by not telling you how it works. All I'm going to say is that you had better run to the best of your ability.

So just why is it called the UBS "Until the Race is Won" Cup? Simple, I need a Championship name and I wanted to thank UBS for all the generous support they offer. The "UBS Cup" has really become something positive for both RunThatTrack and for UBS and I know it's the Championship everybody really wants to win. If the past seasons are anything to go by it's going to be a great Championship...
Championship Overview - Most Laps, Most Distance, Highest Donation and Most Calories
What a headline! Yep, you want a bit of competition well we certainly have it. In fact, you could win something without even doing anything other than running each track and submitting your Lap!

So for 2016 we will again also be hosting individual Championships for Most Laps, Most Distance, Highest Donation and Most Calories. The logic behind all of the Championships is pretty simple, it's just a cumulative total of each of the laps, events, donation amounts raised and calories burnt for each runner. Like the other Championships we will keep the tables all updated in real time so you can see exactly where you are in the pecking order.

So that just about sums up the RunThatTrack Championships for 2016. If you can think of anything I have missed or if I need to add more details then let me know.
