News Article : The European Season
Published: 06/05/2015 by : Simon Morillas

With the season now well underway and the first batch of fly-away races completed, we can now turn our attention to the start of the European season, kicking off with the return to Barcelona and the Circuit de Cataluña. The start of the European season traditionally sees a raft of new updates and changes for each of the cars and teams, and here at the RunThatTrack Technology Centre we’ve been busy working to try to finalise our Charity Partnership and Group Run plan for the 2015 season. Yep, we’re a little late and we’ve not quite sorted everything, but we have some updates that we hope you’ll appreciate.

As you may have noticed, for 2015 the RunThatTrack website has been missing the prominent logo of a Charity Partner. Having donated more than $1M to the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the past 4 years, for 2015 we decided to make a change and put you in the driving seat.

With the incredible ongoing support of UBS, our charity partner for this year is the UBS Optimus Foundation and the range of partners and projects that it supports. The UBS Optimus Foundation can be thought of a central umbrella organisation for charitable projects undertaken by various groups working on projects on both local and global levels. The projects all contain the same simple vision: a world where all children reach their full potential. To make this vision a reality, the foundation concentrates on high-impact initiatives that help ensure children are safe, healthy, educated and ready for their future; matters close to many of you I’m sure.

With the help and guidance of UBS, we have pre-selected three projects from the UBS Optimus Foundation's portfolio. As we know the community is pushed for time at track so we’re keeping the selection process simple. From Monaco onwards, each time you submit your lap (as usual), you now have the option of selecting which of the three projects your $100 will be allocated towards. At the end of the season UBS will donate the totals to each of the three charities. TO read more about our chosen projects, you can visit the Charities page by clicking here.....

Finally, we're aware a few of you have been asking about Group Runs this year. More to come from the RunThatTrack team soon…

So, with that all said and done, don’t forget to pack your running shoes, it looks like it’s going to be a sunny weekend ahead in Spain, so I hope you all manage to enjoy the weather and submit a lap for one of our 3 charity organisations.
