Race 1 2016, sunny Australia. After a relatively calm winter, our travelling F1 circus has now arrived in beautiful Melbourne, where the Docklands, Lygon street and of course the first F1 race of the season all compete for attention; Melbourne see’s the arrival of 2 new teams (but the same old faces), the start of the 2016 F1 season and the launch of the the new RunThatTrack site for 2016.

For 2016 we’ve kept a lot of the same features from 2015, indeed the site is an evolution rather than a revolution, except in the case of our donation platform, which has had an F1 style shakeup for 2016!

For this season we are again delighted to have UBS on-board as our Official Partner for an amazing sixth year. For this year we have decided to mix up the donation system a little. The details will follow shortly, but for now what we can say is that the hashtag #UBSeverylapcounts takes on new significance this year....

It's the first race, so long nights, jetlag, restaurants along the waterfront and overzealous marshals are the norm and provide a variety of excuses for those whose lap times seem to have ummm "dropped off" since the end of last season. Nevertheless, think of a gentle lap as a means to get back into the swing of things, restart the inter team rivalry burn a few calories around the circuit in the setting sun before heading off for dinner and a few well deserved beers.

If you're new to Australia or to RunThatTrack, you might want to check out the King's Track Guide for all the helpful tips on getting around the circuit and city.
